What Our Size 39 Boots Look Like on Different Legs
Finding the right boots is not only about shoe size. When you shop online, one of the biggest questions is how the shaft will sit on your leg, especially through the calf. That part is hard to picture, even if you already know your size.
So we wanted to show it in a simple, real way.
For this post, three of us in the Dandelie office tried on the exact same boot in the exact same shoe size: size 39. What changes is the calf measurement. The calves shown here measure 35 cm, 37 cm, and 39 cm, so you can get a clearer visual reference for how the fit can look on different legs.
What we love is that the overall look stays beautifully consistent. It is still the same boot, with the same shape and the same feeling. What changes slightly is how fitted or relaxed it sits through the calf.
Since our Retro Boots, Chunky Boots, and Flower Boots share essentially the same measurements, you can use this as a reference for all three lines.*
The Same Boot in Size 39 on Three Different Calf Sizes
Calf 35 cm

On a 35 cm calf, the boot sits with a little more ease through the leg while still keeping its shape beautifully.
Calf 37 cm

On a 37 cm calf, the boot sits closer and looks more fitted through the calf, while the silhouette stays smooth and flattering. However, if they feel a bit snug we suggest you to use our stretching spray.
Calf 39 cm
- Regular fit:

- Wide fit:

On a 39 cm calf, we recommend the wide fit version for the most comfortable fit through the leg. That way you keep the same look of the boot, but you get a little more ease where it matters.
A More Helpful Way to Picture the Fit
We know that one of the hardest parts of choosing boots online is simply imagining how they will look on you. A visual reference like this often feels more reassuring than measurements alone, because you can see the same style and silhouette across different legs.
If you know your calf measurement, these photos can help you decide if you will prefer the standard fit or the wide calf option.
Beautiful boots simply need to fit well and feel good. We hope this gives you a clearer, more real sense of how the same pair can keep its charm across different calf sizes.
*Boots are handmade, so slight variations in shaft circumference can happen.
